Marijuana, cocaine seized as 9 students are hospitalized after eating laced brownies
Fri Apr 12, 2013
If the kids were getting sick from the brownies within minutes, it was NOT because of a bad drug response, but improperly made pot brownies. The leaves of cannabis plants have tiny sharp spines that can irritate if not properly processed before consumption.
Teen skier, missing for two days, built snow cave to keep warm
Tue Mar 5, 2013
In a properly built snow cave with just the smallest of fires it is possible to get sweaty. Especially, in 30 degree weather and wind chill only matters if you feel the wind. Still impressive in our pampered indulgent soft society.
'Green fireball' over Southern California caught on camera
Sat Feb 23, 2013
More likely meteorites happen all the time, but now almost everyone has a camera phone or due to our paranoia, security cameras are virtually everywhere.
North Korea threatens 'final destruction' of South Korea in UN debate
Tue Feb 19, 2013
Really people ?? A diplomat from a pissant little country like N. Korea spouts off in the UN and we want to start a nuclear war ? When nothing but a few nuclear test are the ONLY evidence that they are even capable of destroying any one besides their selves. The whole situation could probably be def …
'Something's going to happen to a human': Police hunt serial cat killer
Fri Feb 15, 2013
We shouldn't allow the police to use such blatant false equivalencies. Last time I checked humans do NOT enter my backyard, poop in my rose bushes, kill the song bird babies in their nests, yowl for a mate at 3 AM, or become uncontrollable by shifting territory if a few are removed by animal control …
High-glycemic foods tied to diabetes risk
Thu Feb 14, 2013
Neanderthals did NOT consume multiple sodas, potatos, potato chips, copious amounts of sugar and work in a cubicle or lounge on a couch. Something else took them out. Mankind will do it to ourselves.
Horse slaughtering legal in US, but public won't bite
Sat Feb 16, 2013
I must be a member of the 20% that believe that horse is just another hooved animal that could be bred to be a food source. Though I think we should leave the wild one's alone, unless they need to be culled or they will suffer. My cash strapped single Mom served horse to us kids in the 70's and we l …
Canada thwarts plot to blow up U.S.-Canada rail line
Mon Apr 22, 2013
I was hoping terrorist and other evil doers were NOT smart enough to discover America's Achilles heel. Our railroad lines. The select destruction of only a few isolated railroad tracks could cripple us for months. We have increasingly become dependent of our railroads for transportation of bulk good …
Space travel still poses risks 10 years after Columbia disaster
Thu Jan 31, 2013
We should be investing far more in the space elevator concept. It is a valid and safer way of reaching orbit, but possibly we lack the patience to wait a week or more to gain access to space.
